Early ban from Football Association
Norwich competed as an amateur club for just two seasons under The Football Association (FA). After an inquiry by the FA commission, it was found that the club violated the rules of the association, so the club was informed that they were ineligible to compete in amateur football. Due to a financial issue, City was investigated by the FA Commission; the inquiry commission determined that City was a professional organization and disqualified them from the FA Amateur Cup.
The commission also found out that the club paid fees to a player without receipt and also paid excess travel expenses, which resulted in the club being banned from competing in any FA-affiliated competitions. This dispute lasted for several months and was eventually resolved in 1905, allowing Norwich City to return to competitive football. The Canaries initially joined the Norfolk & Suffolk League in 1902–03 season, and won the league title in 1904-05 season. In the following season the Citizens joined the Southern League, this marked a significant milestone for the club as it was the first time they had gained entry into a professional league. Promotions and Relegations for Norwich City
Tom Parker, a former English footballer, became the manager of Norwich City FC in 1933. Financial Crisis and FA Cup Campaign 1958-59
In the 1950s, Norwich City Football Club faced a financial crisis that threatened to end its existence as a professional football club. The club had been struggling with debt and declining attendance, and the financial burden was compounded by the post-war economic recession. The situation became so dire that the club was forced to sell its best players to raise funds, which led to a sharp decline in its playing performance.
